Introducing "The S.T.A.N. Plan"

How To Turn Off Facebook Group Notifications

Turning Off Facebook Notifications

So you got an invitation to join a group on Facebook. All your friends are there. You'll have a chance to catch up on everybody, everywhere, and on everything they do. This sounds wonderful! But pretty soon you have so many pictures of grand kids, sunsets, food, quotes and pets that you can't keep up. The bing ding dang dong notifications start to mount up. It's a 24 hour unrelenting stream of really interesting stuff. It really is. But there's simply too much of it. Fortunately, you can control it. The 10 second video at the bottom of this post will show you how to start liking cats all over again.

Why Do People Share So Much? Silly question. That's why you joined the group. You wanted to stay in touch. So get over it. You probably share quite a bit too. I'm guilty myself. For example I share posts about running and/or walking. Why? Because I'm 58 years old, I just ran 10 miles, and I feel good about it. I want to help, inspire, and urge others to do the same. There may be some 'bragging' involved, but that's just human nature.

How You Can Control The Notifications

The video below won't take long. It's easy to follow.  But it's short, so it doesn't cover everything. For example the drop down menu also has a selection for "Friends". If you select that you'll only get the notifications from people who are in the group AND that you are friends with. If you need more help with this, you can contact me .  I also want to tell you that if you post a picture of you and Elvis  or Bob Dylan petting a cat, while eating a NuWay Weiner and talking to the Roy Buchanan about The University of Georgia Bulldogs whilst listening to Stillwater or Steve Hinson at The Big House ... be sure to tag me in it. I don't want to miss that.

I hope this helps you enjoy Facebook even more. I would appreciate any comments, shares, plusses or whatever you're into! Thanks again.
